Mentorship talk in the Department of Biology

The Department of Biology has organized for a mentorship talk titled "Advancement opportunities in Biological and Biomedical Sciences" on Thursday 28th April, 2022 at 2:30pm at the Zoology Lab 1 (First year's Laboratory).

The speaker will be Ms. Elishiba Muturi, an alumna of University of Nairobi, Department of Biology.

All are welcome.

PROCEDURE FOR INTER/INTRA -FACULTY TRANSFER 2021/2022
  1. Ensure that your Fees is paid before making the Inter/Intra -Faculty Transfer request.

 

2. Deposit Inter / Intra -Faculty Transfer Fee of Kshs. 1,000/- at any Absa PLC kenya to the following Account Details.
Branch : Absa Towers
Account Name : UON Module I Collection Account
Ref : put your Student Registration Number
Account Number : 2032770838

 

3.    Present your deposit slip to the Cashier in Room G4 in Main    Campus for Receipting.

 

         Ensure Inter-Faculty Transfer fee item appear on the Receipt

 

4.      Place your request for the Inter / Intra -Faculty Transfer through the Student Portal.

NB: Only Students who meet the Cut Off Points will be considered.

 

5    Allow at least two weeks for Inter/Intra -Faculty Transfer processing.

 

6.    Keep checking the status of your Inter/Intra -Faculty Transfer request through the Student Portal.

 

7.     If Successful, collect your printed Inter/Intra -Faculty Transfer Letter from your current Faculty Office once the STATUS of your request is reflected as PROCESSED.

 

8. Students must meet the cut off points for the programme they seek to join as set by KUCCPS

9.     Inter/Intra-Faculty Transfers will be based on available capacity in the     Faculty/Programme.

The deadline for application will be 3rd October 2021.

THE 63RD UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI GRADUATION CEREMONY

The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students from the Colleges Of Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences, Architecture & Engineering, Biological & Physical Sciences, Education & External Studies and ODeL Campus who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2019/2020) and members of the public, that the 63rd Graduation Ceremony will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, September 25, 2020, commencing at 8.00 a.m. at the Great Court.

REVIEW OF SEMESTER DATES

This is to inform all students that the semester dates have been extended by three weeks.

This is due to the disruption of face-to-face teaching and learning brought on the third wave of COVID 19 which led to the abrupt closure of the university. The school has continued with online teaching and learning in the meantime to mitigate the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic situation.

This is to you that the second-semester examination will therefore commence on 7th June 2021 up to and including 18th June 2021.

Candidates are requested to adequately register for all their units and make payment of all requisite fees as per statute XXX fees guideline. Project students should contact their supervisors and complete their research.

ORIENTATION FOR FIRST YEARS 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR IN THE SCHOOL OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

The School of Biological Sciences wishes to take this early opportunity to congratulate and welcome all the students who have been selected for the various degree programmes at the School of Biological Sciences, the University of Nairobi.

In order to give each one of you time to settle down and adjust to the (new) life with ease, the School of Biological Sciences has dedicated Wednesday 2nd September 2020 from 2pm to 4pm a day of orientation into the various aspects that would form part of your lifestyle for the period of stay at the university virtually via a link https://meet.google.com/mwd-vuby-uwg.  Kindly purpose to join.

The orientation of new students joining the University is done in order to:-

  1. Acquaint the students with the University policies and procedures.
  2. Help the students adjust to the new life at the SBS.
  3. Introduce the students to Academic staff and support staff.
  4. Familiarize the students with the facilities and amenities available in the SBS, which include but not limited to:-

a) Academic facilities such as; Libraries, Lecture Theatres, Laboratories,etc.

b)Social activities, clubs and societies
