Biology Innovation Challenge 2026 | On the runners up to the University of Nairobi Innovation Week, the Department of Biology is proposing the first Edition of the Biology Innovation Challenge. A Departmental innovation platform is critical in building a culture of innovation towards sustainability using STEM based training. The main objective is to create a culture of research output sharing, research product innovation and policy influence through student involvement. The Biology innovation challenge intends to create an environment of mentorship, networking and industry exposure. The intention is to include all stakeholders, our esteemed academic and technical teams, and alumni to help our current students achieve the highest level of training.
Biology Innovation Challenge Entrants Entry for submission for the Biology Innovation Challenge is expected for a team of 5 (five) students and or individual project submission. Teams and individuals get to choose their categories and submit proposals by APRIL 5TH 2026. Biology Innovation Challenge Categories
Selection criteria Biology Innovation Week declares the platform to competition in three broad categories. ALL DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS have the opportunity to enter their ideas, research and innovation in three categories
Students interested in presenting their talents during the Department Cultural Day are also encouraged to submit their names and showcasing creative arts

| Mentorship talk in the Department of Biology | The Department of Biology has organized for a mentorship talk titled "Advancement opportunities in Biological and Biomedical Sciences" on Thursday 28th April, 2022 at 2:30pm at the Zoology Lab 1 (First year's Laboratory). The speaker will be Ms. Elishiba Muturi, an alumna of University of Nairobi, Department of Biology. All are welcome. |

| PROCEDURE FOR INTER/INTRA -FACULTY TRANSFER 2021/2022 |
2. Deposit Inter / Intra -Faculty Transfer Fee of Kshs. 1,000/- at any Absa PLC kenya to the following Account Details.
3. Present your deposit slip to the Cashier in Room G4 in Main Campus for Receipting.
Ensure Inter-Faculty Transfer fee item appear on the Receipt
4. Place your request for the Inter / Intra -Faculty Transfer through the Student Portal. NB: Only Students who meet the Cut Off Points will be considered.
5 Allow at least two weeks for Inter/Intra -Faculty Transfer processing.
6. Keep checking the status of your Inter/Intra -Faculty Transfer request through the Student Portal.
7. If Successful, collect your printed Inter/Intra -Faculty Transfer Letter from your current Faculty Office once the STATUS of your request is reflected as PROCESSED.
8. Students must meet the cut off points for the programme they seek to join as set by KUCCPS 9. Inter/Intra-Faculty Transfers will be based on available capacity in the Faculty/Programme. The deadline for application will be 3rd October 2021. |

| REVIEW OF SEMESTER DATES | This is to inform all students that the semester dates have been extended by three weeks. This is due to the disruption of face-to-face teaching and learning brought on the third wave of COVID 19 which led to the abrupt closure of the university. The school has continued with online teaching and learning in the meantime to mitigate the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic situation. This is to you that the second-semester examination will therefore commence on 7th June 2021 up to and including 18th June 2021. Candidates are requested to adequately register for all their units and make payment of all requisite fees as per statute XXX fees guideline.
